Why Haiti?

Haiti is rated as one of the poorest countries in the Western hemisphere and as a Least Developed Country. This means that when you imagine a third world country, you can push that idea even further in regards to necessities such as: clean water, shelter, food security, and health care. On average a family lives in a one room tin home with tarp as a roof or tin covering. They may eat once per day and have to walk in search of clean water daily for drinking, bathing, and cleaning. Transportation mostly consists of walking and motorcycle taxis.  When it comes to education, public schools have fees that most families cannot afford to pay. Therefore, most children do not attend school and thus perpetuating the cycle of an uneducated nation. These realities pushed us to start La Kay Kafe Ministries in order to offer resources, hope, and to show the love of Christ to our village community.
