10 Year Dream

Psalms 37 tells us to “delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart.”  Proverbs 3 tells us to “trust in the Lord” and to “acknowledge Him” and in doing so “He will direct our paths”.  We aim to align our desires with those of our Savior.  We believe the focus of the Kafe Ministry is being shaped to put in action the love of Christ for the people of Haiti.   Isaiah 55 provides another facet and tells us “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” 

We understand that the future is not ours to control and where the La Kay Kafe ministry ultimately goes is in God’s hands.  And yet at the same time we are taught to plan, to consider the costs, and invest for the future. We have dreams and desires for the future of the Lakay Kafe ministry.  In 10 years from now our dream is to:

• Be living in Haiti with our family, on a secured property with a complete fence around our home - the construction of our house is complete and it includes a solar-electric system to provide power.

• No longer be renting the Kafe and rather own the land and the building.

• Operate our own school.

• Be serving the community by providing training programs for teachers, classes for life skills, leadership development, hosting clubs and sports.

• Have a formal connection with the Free Methodist global church and our local pastor has been ordained.
